I have Public Relations Research with Karuna and have always thought she was stylish. On this day, she was looking too sweet and bookish with her coffee and scarf for me to pass up. Because Karuna is from Hong Kong, so are many of her clothes, including the top, scarf and cardigan from this look. She's also wearing Levi's skinny jeans and the Jack Purcell Converse.

Erik Jones Show at Store 101
Erik Jones featured his solo exhibit at Store 101 this weekend and these are my three favorites from his show. I once snagged a sketch of his at a show, which I love because I can't afford his paintings. If you want to see more of Erik's work, check out theirison.blogspot.com or shekills.com (his t-shirt line).

Street Style: Cecey in Fine Arts Courtyard
I was walking through the Fine Arts Courtyard to do some fliering when I came across Cecey sitting at a table listening to her iPod. I like that she's already wearing tights with her shorts... a look I have not yet braved despite recent cold weather. It's just too hot for me still. Plus, her outfit matches the blog! love it. In this look: top/shorts - Forever 21, tights - target, shoes - Wal-mart, belt - thrift store. This girl really knows how to look cute for cheap, which always inspires me.

Street Style: In Wolfgang
My dear boss at Wolfgang, Matthew Turner, was looking fly the other day in this outfit, so I coaxed him into letting me take his picture. This really isn't a special day... he always looks effortlessly put together. This look includes: shirt and jeans by Acne Jeans, tie by Psycho Bunny, shoes by Vans, ring by Alex & Chloe and bracelet by Marc by Marc Jacobs. Matt is hands down the best dressed male I know.

New political shirts at Store101
If you're an Obama fan... then you should get one of these shirts. They were created by Store 101's Kyle Cross, so they're original prints that no one else in the country will have! They will be available at Store 101 and Wolfgang. If you're interested, contact Store 101 at 352-377-7044, Wolfgang at 352-505-8123, or leave me a comment and I can help you out.

Street Style: UF's own Giselle
I think I gave myself minor whiplash in an attempt to ask this cutie for her picture. I spotted her outside of Broward Dining on campus and needed to know where she got those boots! Her name is Giselle and she obviously knows a thing or two about going to class in style. I love how this dress is cinched at the waist and it looks great with her caramel brown boots. The best thing is that Giselle is a savvy shopper. She told me that her dress is from Old Navy (who would have thought?), her boots are from Victoria's Secret, and the patent leather bag is from JC Penny. Kudos, girl!

Attention Artists:
We want to make fliers for our blog to post around campus.... unfortunately we're not artists, and we can't draw worth a damn. BUT we have a lot of artist friends who are hopefully willing to help us out! If you want to create something...anything... just send it to us via email (tonnishtouch@gmail.com) or we can meet up if you take the hard copy approach. We'll probably just use it as is. It's an awesome way to promote your art and promote The Tonnish Touch as well! Maybe we'll bake you cupcakes or something...mmm funfetti. Be aware that we like cute things!

Oh Shoes...
We've been trying to do street style features lately and we're not getting much feedback, but we're hoping everyone's just playing the silent observer role. "Maybe some people do read, and I'm not just talking to myself via the Internet," I try to tell myself. Either way, it's fun so at least I'm getting something out of it. I see potential features all the time on campus but people walk too fast! It probably doesn't help that I ride a bike and only have MWF class. Just look out for us and we'll be on the look out for you.
Anyway, it's a Saturday night, and I'm home because well, I'd honestly rather stare at shoes that I cannot and will not be able to afford for years to come rather than go out and inevitably just daydream about shoes. I'm sure this is old news to some of you, but I only recently found out about gojane.com and their ridiculously cheap (i'm almost afraid they're made out of styrofoam they're so cheap) and sometimes really cute shoes. I assume the deal is that they copy the design of fancy shoes like Christian Louboutin (my shoe god) and then make them as inexpensive as possible. Here are the pairs that I want and will probably buy soon regardless of inpending financial doom:

Street Style: Sarah
Sarah looks sweet and sporty in this all American Apparel outfit and Aldo shoes, outside of Weimer Hall...the Journalism and Communications building, of course.
Street Style: Nick O. in front of Library West
For guys, it's easy to look cute with a nice pair of jeans and sneakers, like these Super Slim Kim Nudies and light blue Vans that Nick O. is wearing. He wants to cut them but Flavs and I begged him not to. We love the stacked look!

Viktor & Rolf
So I can't stop watching "Shalom", Victor & Rolf's Spring/Summer 2009 fashion show which is actually a short film that the duo put together. This is really interesting because the designers used this as an alternative to a fashion week show. The fashion show/film stars Shalom Harlow, who has the walk of my dreams. Apparently, she had to model each of the looks 5 times in order to get all of the neccessary shots! I don't know how she managed that in those heels...
Some highlights:
-the geometric print black and white platforms
-huge gemstone earrings
-printed tights
-the GORGEOUS gemstone dresses! Just a tidbit- Victor & Rolf partnered with Swarovski in order to make these gemstone dresses that are completely covered in sparkle.
To all of the Audrey Hepburn fans out there, you'll love the intro to the show.
To check it out, click here , and prepare to be amazed.

Street Style: Bryan
Don't be surprised if you see this dream boy featured on the blog in the future. He's our one and only Bryan, and his fashion sense is amazing. His layering of Alex and Chloe necklaces, scarf and jacket is genius. If you take a close look, that's a gator printed on his V-neck...way to represent the Gators in the illest fashion!

Street Style: Gossip Girl
Street Style
So...
Leah and I have been scoping out cuties far and wide on the streets of Gainesville so we can provide you with some local fashion inspiration. We'll be trying to post "street style" photos as often as possible. Tell all of your friends to stop holding back and start getting decked out for school. Campus is such a great place to make a statement. Who knows...maybe we'll stop you on the sidewalk and ask to take a pic of you on our iPhones!! Hope you enjoy <3

Karl Lagerfeld
So I was browsing Karl Lagerfeld's Spring 2009 collection on Coutorture via their Twitter (get one!) and this made me chuckle. I love it, and the rest of the collection is amazing, of course. The lace detailing along the forearms and neckline is my favorite part. check out the rest here!
